Some cocktails try to reinvent themselves every decade. The Gimlet never needed to.
It’s crisp, citrus-forward, and built entirely on proportion. No smoke, no foam, no distraction. Just gin with enough backbone to stand up to fresh lime, and just enough sweetness to round the edges without dulling the blade. When it’s done correctly, it feels effortless. When it’s done poorly, you notice immediately. That’s the beauty of a drink this simple. There’s nowhere to hide.
What You Need:
2 oz. Indiana Whiskey Co. Gin
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
What You Do:
Add gin, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup to a shaker filled with ice.
Shake until thoroughly chilled. Don’t rush this. Temperature matters.
Strain into a rocks glass with no ice.
That’s it. No garnish required, though a thin lime wheel or twist never hurts.
Clean. Bracing. Precise. This Gimlet proves that when your ingredients are solid and your ratios are right, simplicity isn’t boring. It’s confident.
