What Actually Happens on an Indiana Whiskey Company Tour (Spoiler: We Give You the Booze First)

Most distillery tours follow the same script: someone walks you past some barrels, explains what a still is, and eventually, if you’re lucky, lets you taste something at the end. You stand there, politely interested, waiting for the part that actually matters.
We do things a little differently. At Indiana Whiskey Company, we give you the booze up front. Because we think we’re pretty fun and just in case we’re not, at least you’re already drinking.
Here’s What You’re Actually Getting Into
Our tours run 45 to 60 minutes and are led by the actual people who make the whiskey, staff who are hands-on in the mashing, distilling, and bottling process. Not a hired tour guide reading from a script. Someone who can tell you exactly what went into the bottle you’re holding because they were there when it happened.
You’ll get the full story: the history of Indiana Whiskey Company, a close-up look at our one-of-a-kind 100% copper pot still (yes, it’s as impressive as it sounds), the aging and bottling process, and what actually makes us different from the distilleries that don’t make their whiskey in Indiana. Every tour guest also goes home with an Indiana Whiskey branded nosing glass, which is both a useful souvenir and a very good excuse to buy a bottle on your way out.
Pick Your Adventure
Tour Only — $5/person
The full behind-the-scenes experience without the tasting. Great if you’re the designated driver. Less great, but we respect the commitment.
Tasting Only — $15/person
Skip the tour, get straight to the good part. No judgment here — sometimes you just know what you came for.
Tour & Taste — $20/person
The full package. You learn how it’s made, you taste what you learned about, and you leave knowing significantly more about whiskey than when you walked in. This is the move.
Or Go VIP and Get Whiskey Straight from the Barrel
If you want the full experience, and we mean full, the VIP Taste + Tour is worth every penny. For $120 per person, you get everything in the standard Tour & Taste, plus a complimentary cocktail, three bonus samples pulled straight from the barrel, and the chance to choose your favorite and have it bottled in a custom bottle with your name on it.
That’s not just a tour. That’s a story you’ll be telling people for a while. Plan for 60 to 120 minutes and come thirsty.
A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Show Up
Tours are capped at 12 people, so spots go fast on weekends. Book ahead.
Kids under 21 are welcome and come free of charge. Yes, really.
Bring a valid photo ID. This part is non-negotiable.
Arrive 5-10 minutes early. Not 30. Not at the exact second. Five to ten.
Got a group of 12 or more? Email eric@inwhiskey.com or ashley@inwhiskey.com and they’ll sort you out.
Don’t Just Take Our Word For It
“We did a tasting and tour and we loved it! I was a big fan of their single American malt and their Breakfast of Degenerates. The tour was great, educational, and intimate with them being such a small distillery. The employees of Indiana Whiskey Co. are passionate for their work, so if you’re in the South Bend area, you need to check these guys out!”
“The tour was fantastic and highly recommended! Definitely spring for the VIP tour, it comes with a complimentary cocktail and a custom bottle to take home!”
“Both Ashley and our tour guide were amazing. I took my boyfriend for his birthday on a VIP tour. We are not super heavy whiskey or bourbon drinkers so they were very accommodating. The process was super interesting and so fun to do something different locally.”
Come See How It’s Made
Whether you’re a whiskey nerd who wants to geek out on the distilling process or someone who just wants a fun afternoon with a good pour at the end, there’s a tour option for you. Come see the still, meet the people behind the bottle, and leave with a glass — and probably a reason to come back.
